Midsummer Day's delights for Hall golfers

With thanks to David Ashworth, AGS members gathered for the Summer Meeting at The Richmond G.C. on 21st June. The course, the weather and the ambience combined to make this a solstice event to remember.

In the competition for the Richmond Trophy, Clive Penwarden was a clear winner with a fine score of 40 points. Joint runners-up with 38 points were Chris Atkinson and John Collingwood, and David Ashworth came 4th on 35. Nearest the pin on the 8th hole was Mike Simmie (3ft!) and the longest drive at the 18th, by some distance, was struck by Andrew Beardmore.

Tom’s Bar was well patronised at the end of the round before they adjourned to The Richmond’s amazing Grade1 listed domed dining room for the traditional roast beef and Yorkshire lunch and prize presentations.
